SERG RESEARCH LABS

Software Engineering labratory

Laboratory (SEL) has available to its research community an assortment of computing and networking resources. Research is supported by a cluster of INTEL and SPARC workstations and servers. A wireless network in the lab provides connectivity and allows laptop computers to access from anywhere in the building.
Major Equipment
Research in SEL is supported by a wide variety of software including SQL server, Design/CPN (Petri nets tools), and some industry-strength software engineering tools such as Telelogic¡¯s DOORS and SYNERGY. Current hardware in the lab includes the following:
  • 1 Dell PowerEdge 2500 Server, dual-processor with 1G RAM and RAID storage
  • 2 Sun Blade 2000, 64-bit RISC Sun servers with 1G RAM, running Solaris
  • a cluster of Desktop PCs, running both Linux and Windows XP
  • several Dell Laptop PCs all with wireless network cards
  • 1 HP LaserJet 4200 Printer
Office Space
A spacious lab is dedicated to SEL researchers, which locates in basement 26E.
Other Resources
The SEL has its own Library. The library contains a high volume of books, journals, and periodicals in the field of Software Engineering since 1980 up until now. It has a priceless collection of papers, dissertations, theses, technical reports, and software systems contributed by former researchers and graduate students. The University's Library, including extensive holdings of IEEE and ACM publications, in both print and electronic formats, is available to us.
